Grading and Information
It is very important for fifth

graders to show there best work right away. Grades from the first report card in fifth grade are presented to middle schools. Please talk to your child about being thorough and clear in their science journals.  Science writing is based on the common core standards for the grade and is an important component in the first report card grade. 

 

Grades in science are based on

 

written work, class participation,

 

discussions, attendance

 

and independent, partner and

 

group work.

Fifth Grade

CThis year fifth graders will...

*Learn about the Nature of Science/Landforms/Ecosystems/Engineering Challenges will be presented.

*Will have a mandated science fair project that is due BEFORE the SCIENCE FAIR.  

The Science Fair will be a celebration of student work.
